Abraham Vergis invited to speak at New Delhi conference on “International Commercial Arbitration in Asia”

Providence Law Asia’s MD Abraham Vergis was invited to speak at a New Delhi conference on “International Commercial Arbitration in Asia” hosted by the Asia-Pacific Jurist Association on 15 November 2014. The keynote address was delivered by Justice A.K. Sikri, Honourable Justice of the Supreme Court of India. Abraham’s panel consisted of Justice G.S. Sistani and Justice R.K. Jain (of the High Courts of Delhi and Punjab & Haryana respectively), and Senior Advocates of the Supreme Court of India. They addressed the controversial question of whether the Indian Judiciary were supportive or obstructive of the general regime of international arbitrations and the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in India.
