Rare Quia Timet Injunction to prevent derailment of property sale valued S$900 million
Providence Law represents the Pacific Star Group, the asset manager of TripleOne Somerset, a shopping mall along Singapore’s premier Orchard Road shopping district, who were in the process of finalising a sale of TripleOne Somerset to a third party for over S$900 million when a dispute arose with its then anchor tenant, NTUC Fairprice (Singapore’s largest supermarket chain). The dispute was over the non-renewal of NTUC’s lease owing to the late exercise of its option to renew.
