Hannah Chua

蔡予暄

Hannah is a Legal Executive of the firm. She supports the firm’s commercial litigation practice, with a particular focus on corporate insolvency, and restructuring matters.

 

Hannah graduated from National University of Singapore with a LL.B. (Hons) and also holds a Masters in Management from London Business School. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a strategy consultant with a global management consulting firm in the Middle East, where she advised sovereign wealth funds and government ministries on national-level strategies including economic development and regulatory design.

Her experience in the firm includes assisting in high-value multi-jurisdictional disputes and complex insolvency matters.

While in law school, Hannah was selected to represent the Centre for Transnational Legal Studies at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. She also represented NUS Law at the R.K. Singh Arbitration-Mediation Competition in New Delhi, where she was ranked 3rd Best Speaker, and was awarded Best Speaker from Chamber at the Asian Law Students Association Conference.

Hannah is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Professional Experience

  • Assisted in the successful enforcement of a US$92 million arbitral award, obtaining injunctive relief before the Singapore Court of Appeal.
  • Assisted in representing the director and minority shareholder of a property-management company in proceedings against the other directors and majority shareholder, alleging minority oppression and breaches of a shareholders’ agreement.
  • Assisted in defending a cryptocurrency developer in an international arbitration administered by the SIAC concerning claims in excess of US$21.5 million, involving complex allegations of bribery, misrepresentation, and conspiracy.
  • Assisted in advising the joint and several liquidators of Hin Leong Trading (Pte) Ltd in one of the largest and most complex liquidations in Singapore. The ongoing liquidation has a debt profile in excess of US$4 billion with other creditors’ claims amounting to over US$1 billion. These claims from major banking institutions are ongoing and involve complex, multi-party litigation and mediation with many of Singapore’s leading lawyers and insolvency professionals assisting.
  • Assisted in advising the judicial manager of Golden Mountain in a complex debt restructuring of debts over US$67 million.
