Loo Wee Toh

Wee Toh is a Counsel with the firm. His practice focuses on commercial disputes and restructuring and insolvency matters.  

Wee Toh graduated from the University of Bristol with an LL.B. (First Class Honours), where he was awarded several academic prizes, including for best performance in his first year and various subjects including contract law, land law, public international law and conflict of laws. In 2025, he completed the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded the Winter Williams Prize for International Economic Law.  

Prior to joining Providence, Wee Toh practised in leading international and local law firms. He has broad experience in commercial disputes and contentious insolvency matters, data breach response, as well as non-contentious technology transactions and agreements. 

Wee Toh is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Professional Experience

  • Assisting an Indian-listed corporation in a shareholders’ dispute with a large multinational dye company.
  • Assisting a trustee of a family trust in its successful application for a forum non conveniens stay of proceedings.
  • Assisting a private equity fund in a corporate dispute with several partners in respect of the control of a joint venture vehicle.
  • Acting for a businessman in a long-running shareholders’ dispute.
  • Assisting a major bank creditor in cross-border insolvency proceedings, criminal investigations and civil proceedings in respect of a major marine bunker supplier.
  • Advising a bank in respect of proceedings relating to the distribution of surplus proceeds of a mortgagee sale of a bankrupt’s property.
  • Assisting a listed company in the winding up of its joint venture in the oil and gas sector.
  • Advising a cryptocurrency exchange platform on the recovery of cryptocurrency in excess of S$100 million following a cybersecurity incident.
  • Acting for a sub-contractor in an ICC arbitration in respect of a dispute concerning the construction of a power plan.
  • Assisting a trading company in proceedings to set aside an arbitral award issued in respect of a trade dispute.
