Essential Written Advocacy Webinar Series – Developing a Case Theory and Taking Instructions

Our Director, Vanathi Ray is speaking at The Law Society of Singapore Essential Written Advocacy Webinar Series at a session titled “Developing a Case Theory and Taking Instructions” on 29 May 2025 (Thursday) from 5.00pm to 6.30pm.

At this session, Vanathi will guide participants on how to efficiently take instructions from a client, including pointers on formulating appropriate questions that will elicit responses useful to developing the case theory. Participants will learn how to go about developing and utilising the case theory to enhance the overall persuasive value of every piece of written advocacy. Ethical issues will also be considered, including challenges that may be posed when taking instructions and formulating case theories that thread close to the fine line of professional ethics.

This seminar will be held in a live webinar format, and is suitable for lawyers of any PQE level looking to develop or refresh their skills in written advocacy.
