Darren Wong

Darren has represented corporations and high-net-worth individuals in complex commercial litigation involving fraud and asset recovery, directors’ duties, and insolvency-related proceedings, at both trial and appellate levels of the Supreme Court.

Darren graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Second Upper Honours).

Darren is fluent in English and conversant in Mandarin.

Professional Experience

  • Successfully acted for a US company and its controller in defending a counterclaim for US$42 million involving issues relating to breach of contract, inducing breach of contract, and conspiracy to injure; Successful before the General Division (reported judgment in [2025] 3 SLR 769) and on appeal before the Appellate Division (reported judgment in [2025] 1 SLR 336).
  • Successfully acted for a BVI company and its directors against a family trust in a claim for US$64 million involving issues of agency, breach of fiduciary duties and conspiracy; Successful on appeal before the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeal.
  • Acting in a claim for US$69 million which involves complex issues of law, including res judicata.
  • Successfully acted in an application for recusal of a judge of the General Division.
  • Acting and advising an executrix in a claim for loss of dependency and loss of inheritance for over S$5 million.
  • Successfully defended a high net-worth individual in resisting an application for committal.
  • Acting for a high net-worth individual in defending a counterclaim for conspiracy to injure involving claims of forgery and fabrication of documents.
  • Acting for a co-administrator of an estate worth over S$11 million in a dispute with the other co-administrator.
  • Worked with BVI counsel to advise a company and its directors on matters relating to shareholder rights.
