Amar Pandey

Amar is a Counsel with the firm. His practice spans complex cross-border commercial litigation, including investor-State disputes, fraud and asset recovery, and insolvency-related proceedings.
Amar graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Yong Pung How School of Law in the Singapore Management University, where he won the David Marshall and Joe Grimberg prizes as the top student in criminal law and international moots respectively. He reached the semi-final of the 30th Willem C. Vis Moot and the world quarter-final of the 65th Philip C. Jessup Moot. He has co-authored a peer-reviewed publication on investor-State issues in international arbitration and now serves as Adjunct Faculty at the Singapore Management University, where he teaches a course on advocacy.
Amar is fluent in English and speaks Hindi and Bahasa Indonesia in a limited working proficiency.
Professional Experience
- Advised and acted for the founder of a luxury resort group in the Maldives in multiple shareholder disputes before the Singapore International Commercial Court worth over US$300 million.
- Advised and acted for a family office in Singapore in obtaining specific performance of various obligations under a convertible note agreement at the summary judgment stage.
- Advised and acted for the founder of the Indian Premier League in resisting an application for summary judgment in a claim for defamation and malicious falsehood.
- Advised and acted for a sustainable mining startup in enforcing an arbitration agreement before the Singapore Courts.
- Advised and acted for a State in an application to resist enforcement of a series of arbitration awards valued at over US$50 billion.
- Advised and acted for an international organization in various applications for interim relief in aid of arbitration in Singapore.
- Advised a litigation funder on the enforcement of a series of arbitral awards valued at close to US$1 billion.
- Advised the liquidators of a cryptocurrency exchange on interim relief for the recovery and preservation of cryptocurrency assets in Singapore.
- Advised and acted for the liquidators of a cryptocurrency exchange on various cross-border issues of investigations and asset recovery, with a total debt size of over US$260 million.
