In the recent decision in Ankhim Holdings Pvt Ltd and Anor v Zaveri Construction Pvt Ltd, the Supreme Court of India reiterated the pro-arbitration stance of the Indian Courts, highlighting that Courts cannot intervene in the arbitral process beyond that which has been mandated by law. This decision was rendered in the context of appointment of substitute arbitrators under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.
